About this tool

This free online PDF editor lets you mark up a PDF right in your browser — add text, draw or sign by hand, highlight, draw boxes, and drop in images, then rotate, reorder, or delete pages and export a new file. Nothing is uploaded, so even contracts and other sensitive documents stay completely private on your device.

How to use

  1. Open a PDF — every page loads as an editable canvas.
  2. Pick a tool (Text, Draw, Highlight, Box, or Image) and click or drag on a page.
  3. Use Select to move, resize, or delete what you added; rotate or reorder pages with the page controls.
  4. Click Export PDF and download your edited file.

What it can and can't do

This editor adds content on top of your PDF and reorganizes pages — perfect for signing, filling, annotating, and cleaning up documents. It does not rewrite the original text of the PDF; to replace text, cover it with a box and type over it. To only merge, split, compress, or rotate, the dedicated PDF tools are quicker.

Frequently asked questions

Is this PDF editor free?

Yes — it's a completely free online PDF editor with no sign-up, no watermark, and no limits.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The PDF is opened and edited entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device. It's safe for private and sensitive documents.

What can I add to a PDF?

You can add text, freehand drawings or a signature, highlights, outline boxes, and images. You can also rotate, reorder, and delete pages — then export a new PDF.

Can I edit the existing text in the PDF?

No. Like most browser PDF editors, this tool adds new content on top of the page rather than rewriting the original text, because PDFs don't store editable text flow. You can cover text with a box and type over it.

How do I add my signature?

Pick the Draw tool and sign with your mouse, trackpad, or finger on a touchscreen. You can also add a signature image with the Image tool.

How do I move or resize something I added?

Switch to the Select tool, click the item to select it, then drag to move it. Boxes, highlights, and images have a corner handle to resize. Press Delete to remove the selected item.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The editor is touch-friendly and runs locally, so you can annotate and sign PDFs on a phone or tablet.
