How to use

1. Choose or drag in a PDF file.
2. Click a page to rotate it 90°, or use the left/right buttons.
3. Use All left / All right to rotate every page together.

Why rotation matters

Scanned documents and phone photos of paper often come out sideways or upside down. Saving the correct orientation into the PDF means it prints and displays the right way up everywhere, without anyone having to turn their screen.

Viewer rotation versus saved rotation

Most PDF readers have a rotate button, and it does something different from this tool. That button changes only how the document is displayed in your session — close the file and the rotation is gone, and anyone you send it to still sees it sideways. Some readers will not even carry the rotation into printing.

Rotating here writes the orientation into the file itself, so it is correct everywhere the document is opened, printed, or attached to an email. That is the difference between fixing a document and fixing your own view of it.

Why scans come out sideways in the first place

A PDF page carries a rotation value alongside its content, and scanners and phone apps frequently write it inconsistently — capturing landscape content onto a portrait page, or setting the flag while the content is already upright, which produces a double rotation. Mixed orientation within one document is common when a batch scan includes a few pages fed in the wrong way.

Because of that, rotation is applied per page rather than to the whole file. Rotate only the pages that need it and leave the rest alone.

Nothing is re-rendered

Rotating changes a single value in the page's metadata — the content is untouched. Text stays selectable and searchable, images keep their original resolution, and the file size barely moves. There is no quality cost and no generational loss from rotating a document more than once, unlike re-exporting from an image editor.

The page previews are rendered locally so you can see what you are rotating; if they fail to appear, the rotation still works — the thumbnails are a convenience, not part of the operation.
