About this tool

This free online watermark tool lets you add custom text to any photo in seconds — right in your browser, no upload required. Choose your text, pick one of nine positions, adjust the font size and opacity, and select any color you like. The watermark is applied using the Canvas API and the result is available to preview and download instantly.

How to use

  1. Drop an image into the drop zone or click to browse.
  2. Type your watermark text (e.g. "© Your Name").
  3. Choose a position, font size, opacity, and color.
  4. Click Apply Watermark to preview the result.
  5. Download the watermarked image.

Tips

For a subtle watermark, try white or light gray text at 30-50% opacity in a corner. For stronger protection, use a large centered watermark at 60-80% opacity. The right settings depend on your image content.

Frequently asked questions

Is this watermark tool free?

Yes — completely free, with no sign-up, no account, and no watermark added by the tool itself. You control the entire watermark.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

No. The watermark is applied entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

What position options are available?

Nine positions in a 3x3 grid: top-left, top-center, top-right, middle-left, center, middle-right, bottom-left, bottom-center, and bottom-right.

Can I control the opacity of the watermark?

Yes. Use the Opacity slider to set transparency from 10% (very faint) to 100% (fully opaque). A value around 40-60% is a common choice for a visible but non-distracting watermark.

What font size range is available?

The font size slider goes from 12pt to 120pt. The right size depends on your image dimensions — larger images need bigger text to stay visible.

Which image formats can I watermark?

JPG, PNG, and WebP. The output format matches the input — JPEGs stay as JPEG, PNGs stay as PNG, and WebPs stay as WebP.

Can I use custom watermark colors?

Yes. There are quick presets for white, black, and red, plus a color picker for any color you need. White or light watermarks work best on dark images; black on light images.

Is the watermark permanent?

Yes — the watermark is burned into the exported image. Keep your original file if you need to make changes later.
